Oscar de la Renta
Oscar Aristides Ortiz de la Renta Fiallo is a fashion designer born in the Dominican Republic in 1932 to Puerto Rican father Óscar Avelino de la Renta and a Dominican mother Maria Antonia Fiallo. Individuals from his mom's family belonged to an array of prestigious and artistic fields. Also, de la Renta's granddad was the constitutional Ponce’s mayor.
At the age of eighteen, he left his hometown in order to gain residence in Spain to study painting in Madrid at the Academy of San Fernando. Oscar de la Renta became fascinated with fashion and commenced adumbrating his conceptions for leading fashion houses in the state. These encounters earned him a chance to work with Cristobal Balenciaga and consider him as his coach. After some time de la Renta joined Antonio Castillo at Lanvin in Paris as an assistant for couture designing.
In the year 1963, he went to Vogue's central supervisor, Diana Vreeland, for exhortation. Subsequently, he started working for Arden until 1965 when he found a job at Jane Derby and then became capable of launching his own brand. When Derby passed away, Oscar de la Renta surmounted the company.
Somewhere between 1993 and 2002, he engendered an amassment of haute couture for Balmain, a French fashion house. In 2006, his brand spread out its activities to create wedding dresses.
As of 2003, the brand procured international fame and magnification under the direction and management of its CEO, Alex Bolen. And the ready to wear clothes collection were also accessible on the web, in retail locations and across wholesalers around the world.
In 1990 he was given the Lifetime Achievement Award by CFDA. Furthermore, de la Renta was given with La Gran Cruz de la Orden del Mérito Civil and Gold Medal of Bellas Artes by Spain's King Juan Carlos. Aside from this, the Dominican Republic regarded de la Renta with the Order of Christopher Columbus and Order of Merit of Duarte, Sanchez, and Mella. In 2013, Hamilton College, New York gave him a privileged degree.
Going to his own life, in 1967 he wedded Françoise de Langlade, who worked at Elsa Schiaparelli and was the head supervisor at French Vogue. Later in 1989, he espoused Annette Engelhard. He has stepchildren from both his marriages and an adopted son as well.
